Hair Style - The Sexy Swirled Updo

The Swirled Updo was the epoch of hair fashion during the 1930s and 1940s. Accomplish this signature look by taking a section (or all) of the hair and sweeping it upward in a swirl that is anchored to the head.

1. Start by separating the "bangs" of your hair. If you’re not entirely sure how much hair that is, it's everything that falls forward on to your face, in front of your ears.

2. Comb your hair back neatly. Secure the front portion neatly using with bobby pins or hair elastic.

3. Now, pull your hair back smoothly to one side and twist it into a French knot. Use the bobby pins in overlapping X shapes to create the base for the twist.

4. Wrap your hair around your hand to create a French twist, using pins to secure the shape of the loop and keep the hair stable.

5. For the front roll, use a hair spray bottle and roll your hair around it. To create the curl, pull your hair to the side rather than straight up so that it won’t fall flat once you take the bottle out.

6. Once you remove the bottle, use one hand to hold your roll in place. Take care to pin all around your roll, especially at the bottom of the curl and at the back so that the swirl "sits up" properly.

With your new sexy swirled look, get ready to sweep the men off their feet!
